New single 'Less than a Lover' to be released at 1 PM on the 24th

BLACKPINK's Jennie will release her new single, 'Less than a Lover,' through various online music release platforms at 1 PM on the 24th. This new track is an alternative pop song that explores the subtle relationship between lovers and friends.

Jennie Set to Make a Comeback with New Single 'Less Than a Lover'

Jennie participated directly in both the lyrics and composition of this track. Her agency, OA Entertainment, explained, "The song is characterized by a dreamy texture created by the harmony of Lo-fi sound guitars and vintage electric keyboards." Jennie also took part in the directing during the music video shoot held in Spain. Previously, Jennie pre-released this song during her performance at the Opener Festival in Poland, introducing it as "a song written while thinking of summer."

Following 'Dracula' which hit No. 5 on Billboard, global festival appearances teased

Jennie's recent global achievements are reflected in the numbers. 'Dracula,' a collaboration with the Australian band Tame Impala, reached No. 5 on the US Billboard main single chart 'Hot 100' (as of July 25).

Following the release of her new single, Jennie is set to take the stages of 'Lollapalooza Chicago' in the US and 'Summer Sonic 2026' in Japan in succession.

Ranks first among BLACKPINK members in album equivalent units sold

The solo achievements of the BLACKPINK members are also evident. Based on the album equivalent units sold (CSPC) compiled by the global music data analysis site Chartmasters, Jennie recorded 12.9 million units, the highest figure among the members. This is followed by Rosé with 9.9 million units, Lisa with 7.9 million units, and Jisoo with 3.6 million units. Last October, Jisoo entered the Billboard Hot 100 with her single 'Eyes Closed,' a collaboration with Zayn Malik, making BLACKPINK the first K-pop girl group in which all members have had their names on that chart.
