Stripped of their titles and summoned to the streets, 20 food industry professionals face survival or elimination based solely on customer choices and star ratings. The 20 participants possess a combined career spanning 445 years, with an average of approximately 23 years per person. These veterans, seasoned in the Korean food service industry, have set aside their names and brand signs to engage in real-world business battles.

A Survival Structure Where Sales Become Prize Money

The cumulative prize money accumulated to date is 161,183,156 won. This amount consists of a base prize of 100 million won plus the total sales recorded by participants on-site. The size of the prize money is determined by the customers' choices and star ratings.

The competition format varied by round. In Round 1, the '1 Million Won Sales Race' required participants to reach 1 million won in sales first to survive. Round 2 featured the '1:1 Same Price Battle,' where teams competed with menus at the same price point, leaving only one team to survive.

During the Round 2 'Street Beer Festival,' Kim Ho-yun's 'Gyeol' recorded 3,465,000 won in sales, becoming the highest-earning team at the time. However, continuous customer complaints regarding a burnt taste in the food led to a drop in star ratings, and following the rules, the final sales amount was deducted, resulting in their eventual elimination. Approximately 2,500 customers have visited the on-site booths throughout Rounds 1 and 2.

Details of the 1,200-pyeong 'Street Arena' Set

The production team constructed the 'Street Arena,' a massive circular outdoor set measuring 70m in diameter and approximately 1,200 pyeong. To realize an environment that felt like actual storefronts had been moved, eight art directors were deployed. The planning stage alone took over one month, with an additional two weeks dedicated to interior work.

The 20 individual booths were built to a scale of 3.1m wide, 6m long, and 4m high. Each booth was equipped with different cooking stations and burner facilities to highlight the individual personality of the participants, and the exterior and signage of the booths were also uniquely decorated to reflect the participants' opinions.

Directed by Lee Woo-hyung and Kim Man-hee, 'Street Restaurant Fighter' airs every Sunday at 7:35 PM on tvN. Exclusive unreleased clips not shown in the main broadcast can be found on TVING.
