BLACKPINK's Jennie releases 'Less than a Lover' on July 24 at 1 PM after festival previews, with lyrics, production and video direction by Jennie.
New single 'Less than a Lover' officially released on the 24th at 1 PM
BLACKPINK's Jennie will officially release her new single 'Less than a Lover' through major domestic and international music release platforms on the 24th at 1 PM. Her agency, OA Entertainment (ODDATELIER), released teaser images capturing the mood of the new song through official SNS channels on the 21st.

This new track is Jennie's first solo work in one year and four months since her first full-length album 'Ruby' released last March. Previously, Jennie drew significant attention on the 18th when she posted a photo on SNS posing while leaning on a man's shoulder. The photo, which featured a lover-like atmosphere with the man's face covered by a heart, served as a spoiler hinting at the mood of this new song.
In the released teasers, Jennie creates a cinematic summer atmosphere, appearing to spend relaxing time alongside natural landscapes unfolding beyond a truck window.
Direct involvement from songwriting and composition to music video direction
This new song is a project where Jennie showcases her capabilities as a producer. According to the credits included in the teaser images, Jennie personally handled the lyrics, music production, and even the music video direction. On the 21st, Jennie shared, "I am releasing a new song this Friday," adding, "I will gift my name to you."
The song is built upon a Lo-fi texture guitar and vintage electric keyboard melodies, layered with Jennie's vocals to capture a languid and sensual atmosphere.
Buzz leading to pre-releases at global festivals
