Park Bom posts AI demos before anyone can 'take my songs'

Musical foundations crafted with AI and claims of hacking damage

Park Bom, a member of the group 2NE1, shared her recent musical workflow and personal circumstances via SNS. On the 10th, Park Bom posted videos created using AI composition programs on her Instagram, accompanied by the message, “I’m posting this in advance because someone keeps hacking and trying to take my songs to use them.”

The lyrics in the released videos reflect her longing for fans and her personal emotions. The content ranges from the phrase, “I miss you, so I’m writing a letter to fans across the country like this,” to lines expressing her determination toward music, such as, “The determination to achieve something makes me think of myself. I decided I must write lyrics, and since starting is half the battle, I am starting now.” Recently, Park Bom has been sequentially presenting tracks utilizing AI, including “In Heaven,” “Morning of Nothing,” “World of Squares and Circles,” and “A Rainy Day.”

“Ultimately with my own voice”: Transformation into a songwriter and future plans

Through this work, Park Bom has formalized her new path as a songwriter. On the 8th, she revealed her changed direction, stating, “I have decided to also work as a songwriter. Oh well, let's just do it.”

She clarified that the currently released AI vocal versions are part of the process of conceptualizing musical ideas. Park Bom explained, “All the songs I have posted so far were tracklists for my album,” adding, “In the future, you will be able to hear them all sung with my own voice.” Her plan is to use AI technology to conceive melodies and write lyrics, and ultimately present official versions recorded with her own voice in a studio.

Having ended her exclusive contract with her former agency, D-Nation Entertainment, after eight years last month, Park Bom is preparing to stand on her own. Amid a hiatus taken for health reasons, she is preparing for a musical comeback through these original songs.
