Hong Hyun-hee and Jay Sebab's son Jun-beom shows impressive focus during his first art lesson

In a video released on the YouTube channel 'Hong Hyun Hee Jay Usseun's Hong-sseun TV' on the 7th, 5-year-old Jun-beom conducted an art lesson alone with the teacher. Initially shy in the unfamiliar environment, Jun-beom told Jay Usseun, “Dad, stay by my side and watch me,” but once the activities began in earnest, he immersed himself in the work, freely handling paints and tools.

Jay Usseun's parenting philosophy: "Sense of achievement is more important than standardized education"

Jay Usseun focused on helping the child accumulate enjoyable experiences rather than simply learning techniques. He stated, “I don't want to give Jun-beom standardized education like 'you have to do this this way' just yet. I want him to find the journey here fun, and I want to give him the sense of achievement of saying, 'I completed this' when he does something."

He also showed intention to keep his distance to foster the child's independence. Jay Usseun shared, “There are times when Mom and Dad need to be absent. If we stay stuck to his side, he will constantly check in by saying, 'Dad, look at this.' Rather than being too protective, we should let him do things freely and foster his independence. I want to give Jun-beom the power to think."

“He doesn't need any help”: Hong Hyun Hee brags about her son

Hong Hyun Hee, who visited the classroom, was amazed by Jun-beom's concentration. The teacher on site also remarked of Jun-beom, “His concentration is really good. I think he will follow rules very well."

Hong Hyun Hee smiled, saying, “They called him a 'low-difficulty unicorn' of parenting. I'm not bragging, but they said he is a child who requires no help at all and never gives cause to raise one's voice.” Indeed, Jun-beom led the class himself without his parents' help and finished his first art experience by cleaning up the tools he used after the class ended.
