DAY6's Young K took the stage on KBS Music Bank to perform his new song, 'Shut The Door'.
In this performance, Young K captured the exhaustion and loneliness of daily life within the lyrics. He honestly expressed the emptiness felt in situations where relationships with friends fail to connect or sincerity is not reciprocated, as well as the fatigue arising from social interactions.
Lyrics capturing the desire to escape into dreams
As the song progresses, Young K describes moments where it is difficult to endure the weight of reality. Singing of the despair felt while lying in a bed soaked with tears after weakly opening a door and entering, he used his soulful voice to appeal the desperate desire to abandon everything and descend into a dream.
In particular, he concretized the irritation and boredom of reality and the situations where people's sighs rush in through his lyrics. In the latter half of the song, as light seeps in, he faces the darkness remaining in his heart, delivering a message of abandoning everything to escape solely through the music within him.
