From Bong Joon-ho, Lee Chang-dong, and Jang Jae-hyun to Kim Jee-woon... Praise from Masters
Interest in 'Hope' from domestic masters is heating up. Previous GVs have featured directors Lee Chang-dong, Bong Joon-ho, and Jang Jae-hyun in succession. In particular, Director Bong Joon-ho, who attended the GV on the 15th, commented, "I want to calm the pleasant cinematic shock and excitement of wondering, 'What on earth did I just watch?' so that I can ask many questions," adding, "'Hope' is an incredibly amazing cinematic adventure. A film where spirit and madness explode."
With Director Kim Jee-woon's participation this time, a wide range of discussions is expected, covering everything from the film's planning process to specific directing intentions and behind-the-scenes stories.
Na Hong-jin's Return After 10 Years, Surpassing 2.64 Million Viewers
The film 'Hope' tells the story of Beom-seok, the head of the Hopo Port branch in the DMZ, who hears news of a tiger appearing in the village. The film continues its box office success, surpassing a cumulative audience of 2,648,440 just 9 days after its release.
This work is the new film from Director Na Hong-jin, who directed 'The Chaser', 'The Yellow Sea', and 'The Wailing', marking his return after approximately 10 years. 'Hope' once again proved Na Hong-jin's directing prowess by entering the competition section of the 79th Cannes International Film Festival.
