Reunion of Former Instructor and Student, a Partnership of Water and Fire
Actress Jung Eun-chae is returning to living rooms through the new SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Chaebol X Detective 2.' Set to premiere on August 7, the series depicts the partnership between Jin Yi-soo (played by Ahn Bo-hyun), a chaebol detective who flips the script with his wealth whenever an investigation hits a wall, and Joo Hye-ra (played by Jung Eun-chae), the new leader of the Gangha-seo Violent Crimes Team 1.

This season focuses on the shifting relationship between the two as their past connection from police academy turns into a current hierarchical dynamic. Jung Eun-chae's character, Joo Hye-ra, is an ace from the National Police Agency's counter-terrorism team and was the 'devil instructor' who kept trainee Jin Yi-soo in line in the past. As time passes and she is appointed as the leader of Violent Crimes Team 1, the two face each other again, becoming entangled despite their polar opposite personalities.
"Jin Yi-soo and Joo Hye-ra have opposite temperaments like water and fire, but they also have points where they are strangely similar," Jung Eun-chae said. "The process of starting from a mismatched hierarchy and gradually evolving into perfect partners will be interesting."
Trust in Ahn Bo-hyun: "He exists on set as Jin Yi-soo himself"
Jung Eun-chae also expressed her trust in her partner, Ahn Bo-hyun. Regarding Ahn Bo-hyun, she remarked, "He always existed on set as Jin Yi-soo himself. As a fellow actor, his passionate side and flexibility were a very good stimulus." She continued to show affection for her partner, adding, "In reality, he actually has many witty and cute sides."
Regarding her reason for choosing the project, she cited the drama's unique progression. "I was captivated by its characteristic wit and refreshing development," Jung Eun-chae revealed. "I was curious about what kind of conflict the unfamiliar character Joo Hye-ra would cause within the existing world and how she would blend in."
Meanwhile, actor Yoo Seung-ho has joined the cast as the youngest son of a media chaebol family, marking his return to television after three years. Ahead of the broadcast, Ahn Bo-hyun and Jung Eun-chae appeared on the SBS variety show 'Running Man' to promote the work alongside Yoo Jae-suk, Haha, and Ji Suk-jin.
Consisting of 14 episodes, 'Chaebol X Detective 2' will premiere on August 7 at 9:50 PM.
