Street Restaurant Fighter turns 100 dishes into a survival sprint
Episode 8 of tvN's Street Restaurant Fighter sends chefs into a 100-Dish Relay Team Battle, with four semifinal spots and customer ratings on the line.
'Street Restaurant Fighter' on tvN has reached the 3rd round, the '100-Dish Relay Team Battle,' with four tickets to the semifinals at stake. In episode 8, airing on August 9 at 7:35 p.m., a business battle unfolds where the starting team and the following team must sell out 100 dishes as quickly as possible. With the addition of the team consisting of Kim Ho-yun and Kim Kwan-hoon, who survived the previous episode 7 loser's resurrection 'Cheolwon Revival Match,' the competition has entered an unpredictable phase.

3rd Round Team Battle Begins Toward Selling Out 100 Dishes
Cracks in teamwork are also becoming visible. The alliance team 'Imone Kitchen,' formed by Kim Mi-ryeong and Edward Young-min Kwon, experienced conflicting opinions from the early stages of deciding their business name. Edward Young-min Kwon expressed disappointment regarding the composition on-site. The team where Lee Yeon Bok and NAVINCI joined hands also showed mismatched chemistry, to the point that NAVINCI mentioned, "It didn't fit." The Kim Ho-yun and Kim Kwan-hoon team also attempted to collaborate during the cooking process, but Shin Jong-hun conveyed their difficulties, stating, "Our hands and feet didn't quite match."
Disharmony of Veteran Chefs and Cold Evaluations
The stage for this mission is an amusement park with a capacity of 14,000 people. While the participants showed confidence, they faced a series of blunt criticisms from customers on-site. In particular, the penalty condition where the number of dishes required to be sold increases the moment they receive a '2-star rating' from customers acted as a variable that slowed down the entire team's speed.
Surpassing 100 Million Cumulative Views and Pop-up Store Success
As of last July, 'Street Restaurant Fighter' surpassed 100 million cumulative digital video views. This buzz has also translated into offline success. The chef relay pop-up store held at the Lotte Department Store Jamsil branch from July 17 to September 17 saw a 75% surge in sales compared to the same period last year. The pop-up store sold menus showcased on the program, including Kwak Dong-hun's 'Giant Chimichanga' as well as dishes by Shin Ga-young, Kim Kwan-hoon, and Choi Sang-hyeon.
The program has now entered the latter half of the race, experiencing upsets where favorites such as Cho Seo Hyung, Kim Hee Eun, and Im Gi-hak were eliminated. Future practical missions, including individual sales races, 1-on-1 battles, and auction bidding, are scheduled. Produced as a 12-episode series, the program airs every Sunday at 7:35 p.m. on tvN, and unreleased clips can be found on TVING.
