Baek Sung-chul Immersed in Acting Amidst the Heat of the Filming Set

Actor Baek Sung-chul has made his presence felt by sharing the vivid atmosphere of the filming set. In recently released photos, Baek Sung-chul sits at an indoor table bathed in red-toned lighting, gazing straight ahead with his chin resting on his hand. Dressed in a striped shirt paired with a tie, he appears deeply immersed in preparing for his performance in the middle of a set where filming equipment and staff move busily.

Originally from Suncheon, Jeollanam-do, Baek Sung-chul first made a name for himself as a model. After making his debut through the Caruso show at the 2019 F/W Seoul Fashion Week, he built his career as a model by walking in various fashion brand shows. Expanding his scope into acting, he has steadily built his filmography, starting with the role of Hyung Jun-young in the 2021 KakaoTV drama 'How to Be Thirty,' followed by Go Hyun-woo in the TVING original 'The Witch's Diner,' and Santa in the JTBC drama 'Inspector Koo.'

The Face of Dream-Chasing Shim Yu-geon in 'Dream to You'

Currently, Baek Sung-chul plays the role of Shim Yu-geon, a bit player who dreams of becoming the Takeshi Kaneshiro of Korea, in the ENA Monday-Tuesday drama 'Dream to You.' Based on the belief that 'hard work never betrays,' Shim Yu-geon is a character who refuses to give up on his dream of becoming an actor even while working multiple part-time jobs.

In episodes 1 and 2, Baek Sung-chul plainly portrayed the character's passionate side as he visits production companies and agencies with self-made profiles, as well as his resilient inner strength in rising again after repeated failures. In particular, he naturally handled the multi-dimensional relationships between characters through natural expressions and speech, such as the bright demeanor Shim Yu-geon shows when he coincidentally participates in a pictorial shoot with Oh Ha-na (played by Lee Yul-eum), his sincere encouragement toward Ju Yi-jae (played by Kim Ji-eun), and his prickly attitude toward Woo Su-bin (played by Choi Tae Joon).
