Pak Se-ri tears up as Kim Chang-ok likens camera flashes to arrows

Communication expert Kim Chang-ok offered comfort while recalling the painful moment of the press conference Pak Se-ri endured in the past.

Appearing on tvN STORY's 'Namgyeoseo Mwohage' broadcast on the 13th, Kim Chang-ok revealed that watching the video of Pak Se-ri's tearful press conference was the reason he decided to appear on the program. Comparing Pak Se-ri's appearance at the time to the movie '300', Kim recalled that seeing her endure the barrage of camera flashes without any defense looked as cruel as being struck by hundreds of thousands of arrows.

“Even the words of someone comforting another can be violent,” Kim added, noting that rather than judging Pak Se-ri's situation, he simply wanted to be by her side. In response, Pak Se-ri grew teary-eyed, expressing her gratitude for his understanding of her emotions at that time.

The weight of the press conference faced due to her father's debt issues

Pak Se-ri spoke candidly about the pressure she felt during the press conference. She shared her feelings from that moment, saying, “While I was trying to compose my emotions, the flashes went off in an instant. The flashes had nothing to do with my emotions, but in that moment, just sitting in the press conference room was not easy.”

In June 2024, Pak Se-ri released an official statement regarding her father's debt issues. She explained that she had attempted to resolve the matter quietly because they were family, but as the vicious cycle of debt relationships continued, it eventually led to a lawsuit. Pak Se-ri sued her father for forgery of private documents and use of forged private documents; her father was sentenced to 10 months in prison with a 2-year stay of execution for the charges.

MC Lee Young Ja offered encouragement to Pak Se-ri for deciding to cut ties quickly rather than dragging the problem out, calling it a “wise decision.” tvN STORY's 'Namgyeoseo Mwohage' airs every Monday at 8 PM.
