A photo of the late Kim Soo-mi hanging in a restaurant in Jeju Island evoked memories for Go Doo-shim, Park Soon-cheon, and Jo Ha-na. In the Jeju 1st Anniversary special of tvN STORY's 'What's Left to Leave Behind' (hereafter 'What's Left to Leave Behind') broadcast on the 6th, the three actresses, along with MCs Lee Young-ja and Pak Se-ri, recalled the deceased.

While looking around the restaurant walls, Lee Young-ja discovered Kim Soo-mi's photo and reacted with surprise, saying, "Oh my, it's Kim Soo-mi teacher. What should I do?" A restaurant official stated that the deceased had visited this place about 10 years ago. Looking at the deceased in the photo, Lee Young-ja said, "She left too early."

Go Doo-shim also smiled in front of Kim Soo-mi's photo but could not take her eyes off it for a long time. Kim Soo-mi, who passed away in 2024 at the age of 75 due to hyperglycemia shock, remained vivid in the memories of her colleagues.

The Rice Cooker Anecdote from the 'Jeonwon Ilgi' Set

Go Doo-shim said that Kim Soo-mi comes to mind whenever she faces food. She explained that the image of the deceased, who always loved cooking and serving food to others, remains an indelible memory.

The connection between the two dates back to the MBC drama 'Jeonwon Ilgi'. Go Doo-shim, who worked with her for 22 years, recalled the warm side Kim Soo-mi showed on the filming set. She began by saying, "When we were doing 'Jeonwon Ilgi', she only brought lunch boxes for the actors to eat."

She continued, sharing the deceased's generous heart, "After 'Jeonwon Ilgi' ended, I saw Su-mi unnie carrying a large rice cooker. On filming days, she would pack so many side dishes and even take care of all the staff."

Jo Ha-na's Memory of the Last Greeting

Jo Ha-na also recalled the days of the variety show 'Chairman's People'. She said, "During 'Jeonwon Ilgi', I never got to eat teacher's food and only heard stories about it," adding that in the variety show they appeared in together, Kim Soo-mi always made more than 10 servings of food to share with everyone.

Jo Ha-na said she could not forget Kim Soo-mi's last appearance, greeting her in front of the elevator on the day of the program's wrap-up party. She confessed, "I still cannot forget that look in her eyes when she said, 'Ha-na, call me.'"

Park Soon-cheon: "A Textbook That Taught Me How to Live"

Park Soon-cheon also recalled the moment she heard the news of the deceased's passing. She revealed that she learned of Kim Soo-mi's death while traveling by car with Go Doo-shim for a regional performance. She mentioned that everyone fell into great sorrow, to the extent that senior Lee Gye-in headed to the funeral hall while crying.

Regarding Kim Soo-mi, Park Soon-cheon said, "She feels like a textbook that taught me how to live. The glamorous image of Kim Soo-mi suits her so well." It was a remark reflecting on the presence of the deceased, who was called a master of ad-libs while working together on 'Jeonwon Ilgi' for 22 years.

On this broadcast, Go Doo-shim, Park Soon-cheon, and Jo Ha-na, who had long-standing ties with the deceased through 'Jeonwon Ilgi', appeared as guests. Jo Ha-na had also continued her connection by working with Kim Soo-mi again in the variety show 'Chairman's People'.
