Lisa's First Solo Outside YG, 'ROCKSTAR'… The Solo Protagonist of Bangkok's Night Streets
Lisa showcases a transformed solo image with 'ROCKSTAR,' her first single under LLOUD and RCA Records, featuring a bold new concept set in Bangkok.
BLACKPINK's Lisa has revealed a transformed solo image with 'ROCKSTAR,' her first solo song released outside of YG Entertainment. Released on June 28, 2024, this track is the first single presented under Lisa's own label, LLOUD, in partnership with RCA Records.

The concept, featuring short and edgy hair, large glasses, bold accessories, and even tooth gems, differs in texture from the glamour familiar during her BLACKPINK activities. To fans, it felt like the first scene showing what kind of solo artist Lisa intends to become.
First Single under the LLOUD and RCA Records System
'ROCKSTAR' is Lisa's first solo song in a long time since 'LALISA' and 'MONEY' in 2021. It carries a different weight than an ordinary comeback, as it is the first card played after establishing her personal label on top of the recognition built as a member of BLACKPINK and joining hands with a global record label.
Music Video Set Against the Backdrop of Bangkok's Night Streets
The official music video puts the night streets of Bangkok, Thailand, Lisa's hometown, at the forefront. While intense neon-lit streets, large-scale group choreography, and rapid camera movements follow, the focus remains centered on Lisa until the end.
After its release, the part that first caught eyes was the change in her appearance, which was so different it was hard to recognize her face. However, the core of this concept is not about evaluating her looks, but rather that Lisa placed raw and playful energy ahead of a neatly polished star image.
It is as if she has reintroduced herself as a solo protagonist who leads the entire screen, moving beyond the role of a performer held within the group. The short hair and bold decorations aligned with the song title, and the scenes set in Bangkok brought her very starting point along with her.
In K-pop solo activities, concept photos and music videos are the first screens where fans encounter new music. In those screens, Lisa embedded her own company name and solo identity more strongly than the brand value of her YG era.
Solo Works Continuing with 'New Woman'
Following 'ROCKSTAR,' Lisa has been expanding her name outside of BLACKPINK through solo works such as 'New Woman.' The clearest fact left by 'ROCKSTAR' is that even after leaving YG, Lisa had no intention of remaining only as the Lisa of BLACKPINK.
This single, which brought out the streets of Bangkok, her new label, and a strongly changed concept all at once, remains the first solo scene Lisa created for herself since her independence.
