Jung Jun-won Resumes SNS Activity to Promote Drama 'Married Woman Killer'

Jung Jun-won left the phrase "MBC tonight at 9:50 p.m." in the post. He followed this by uploading a photo taken with actress Han Chae-rin, who plays the role of rookie reporter Gu Hae-na, writing, "Reporter Gu Hae-na's first appearance!" This SNS activity comes just seven days after the drama's first broadcast was announced on July 31st.

Attitude Controversy During 'Hangout with Yoo' Appearance

The mixed reactions from viewers toward Jung Jun-won began during the MBC variety show 'Hangout with Yoo' broadcast on the 1st. At the time, Jung Jun-won appeared alongside Gong Hyo-jin to participate in an acting challenge, but he showed a lack of enthusiasm by giving short answers to Yoo Jae Suk's questions or failing to engage actively in the role-play. Watching this, some netizens expressed disappointment, stating that his attitude toward participating in a variety show as an actor seemed indifferent.

Co-star Gong Hyo-jin mediated the situation, explaining that Jung Jun-won was not feeling well during the recording and had even vomited due to poor physical condition. Fellow cast members such as Haha and Kim Hyeon-sook also appeared to defend Jung Jun-won after the broadcast. Opinions were divided between those who argued that his lack of reaction was simply due to his introverted personality or nervousness, and those who pointed out that regardless of his condition, a minimum level of communication suited to the flow of the variety show was necessary.

Immersion Shown Through Acting Challenge Video

Amidst the attitude controversy, Jung Jun-won's acting skills were brought back into the spotlight. On the 6th, a video titled 'POV: Actors' Day 1 Method Acting' was released on Daily Fashion News' official SNS. The video features Jung Jun-won, who is appearing in the MBC Friday-Saturday drama 'Married Woman Killer', along with Gong Hyo-jin and Lee Sang-yi, each acting out given situations.

In the video, Jung Jun-won is given the setting 'When my wife is a killer' and asks back, "My wife is a killer?" He then shows immersion in the situation through his facial expressions and gestures, such as screaming in great surprise as if he cannot believe it. The production team remarked, "Personally, I was so moved by the scene where actor Jung Jun-won is startled that I even shed tears."

Jung Jun-won increased his recognition by working alongside actress Go Youn Jung in the tvN drama 'Resident Playbook'. In the currently airing MBC 'Married Woman Killer', he plays the role of passionate reporter Kwon Tae-seong. The role of Gu Hae-na, a rookie reporter full of a sense of duty and Kwon Tae-seong's junior, is played by actress Han Chae-rin.
