Spy-thriller tension, teaser video for new song 'Animal' released

Global girl group KATSEYE has entered their comeback countdown, with the release of their new song 'Animal' scheduled for the 24th at 1 PM (KST). On the 21st, Hive Labels released the music video teaser for the new track via their official YouTube channel.

KATSEYE Releases Mysterious Music Video Teaser for New Single 'Animal'

In the released video, KATSEYE exudes a dark and mysterious atmosphere that differs from their previous image. Starting with Megan, who pairs a red mini dress with a black leather jacket, Sophia, Moon Sin-ae, Yoonchae, and Daniela appear in succession. Showcasing contrasting styles—ranging from short hair and suits to killer heels and glamorous dresses—the members alternate between office looks and leather outfits, creating cinematic tension. In particular, the scene toward the end of the video where Yoonchae bites her lipstick, accompanied by the lyrics "Keep your secret safe with me," heightens curiosity regarding the song's narrative.

Contrast of red and black, pre-release track for August mini-album 'WILD'

The visuals for this new song are characterized by intense color contrasts. The single cover image features a figure posing in a leather trench coat and stiletto heels, amidst light and shadows cast in the shape of a window frame. The mise-en-scène, where red and black contrast sharply, evokes classic spy films or mystery suspense movies.

'Animal' is a pre-release track for the third mini-album 'WILD', scheduled for release on August 14. This is the first new music since they presented 'PINKY UP' in April, approximately three months ago. Following the activities for this new song, KATSEYE plans to continue their momentum through 'THE WILDWORLD Tour', touring major cities in North America and Europe.

Born from a joint project between Hive and Geffen Records, KATSEYE has demonstrated their presence by appearing on stages of major music festivals such as Coachella and Lollapalooza, even though they have been debuted for less than two years. Last May, they won a total of three awards at the American Music Awards (AMA), including 'New Artist of the Year', and are expanding their influence in the global market, having also been nominated in two categories at the Grammy Awards.
