Agencies HYBE and Geffen Records announced on the 29th that KATSEYE's new song 'Animal' rose to No. 1 on the Spotify 'Top Song Debut Global' chart for the period of July 24–26. During the same period, it recorded No. 2 on the 'Top Song Debut USA' chart targeting the US market.

KATSEYE Dominates Global Charts with New Single 'Animal'

This new song, which featured Ed Sheeran as a co-writer, recorded approximately 3.34 million streams within the first 24 hours of its release. The track entered the Spotify 'Daily Top Song Global' chart at No. 9 and the 'Daily Top Song USA' chart at No. 4, breaking KATSEYE's own personal best rankings.

Spotify Global Debut Chart No. 1 Record

KATSEYE's records on the UK Official Charts show an upward trend with every new release. After 'Gnarly,' released in May 2025, started at No. 52 on the Official Singles Top 100, the rankings rose to No. 38 for 'Gabriela,' No. 24 for 'INTERNET GIRL,' and No. 14 for 'PINKY UP.' The recent 'ICONIC BY MISTAKE,' a collaboration with Le Sserafim and Illit, recorded No. 22 on the Official Chart.

The music video for the song surpassed 100 million views on YouTube just 47 days after its release, and cumulative Spotify streams exceeded 100 million after 41 days. The song settled at No. 74 on the US Billboard 'Hot 100,' remaining on the chart for six consecutive weeks.

Their second mini-album 'BEAUTIFUL CHAOS' reached a peak of No. 4 on the US Billboard 200 chart and has maintained its position on the chart for 56 weeks. This marks the first time in 21 years since the Pussycat Dolls' 'PCD' that a girl group album has remained on the Billboard 200 chart for over a year.

UK Official Chart and Billboard Continuous Upward Trend

'Animal' was used as background music in the promotional video for the film 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' released by Sony Pictures. This video, which features action scenes of the protagonist Peter Parker, surpassed 10 million views just 20 hours after its release.

KATSEYE broke their own record by climbing from No. 99 to No. 43 on the Spotify 'Daily Top Artist Global' chart. This reflects the fact that 'Touch,' released two years ago, gained listeners through a reverse climb from No. 82.

KATSEYE was formed through the global audition project 'The Debut: Dream Academy' and recently received the New Artist of the Year award at the '2026 American Music Awards.'
