The Studio M Signs MOU with Agencia Granada Global in Spain

Drama production company The Studio M has established a foothold for entering the European content market by partnering with a local Spanish institution. The Studio M announced on the 16th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Agencia Granada Global, a specialized global investment and attraction agency based in Granada, Spain, to cooperate on global content business.

This agreement aims to revitalize cultural and content industry exchanges between Korea and Granada, Spain. Both parties agreed to explore possibilities for joint ventures in various fields, including video content production, entertainment, culture, tourism, and investment, while building a sustainable global cooperation system. Key Spanish officials, including Granada Mayor Marifran Caraso, attended the signing ceremony.

Expanding Cooperation Beyond Video Production into Culture, Tourism, and Investment

Agencia Granada Global is an institution jointly established by the Granada City Council, the provincial government, the University of Granada, and the Granada Chamber of Commerce to oversee the region's internationalization and foreign investment attraction. It is a core institution in the Spanish Andalusia region, which has recently adopted the fostering of creative industries as a strategy and is actively attracting global content companies.

Under the agreement, both sides will pursue joint projects in the video and entertainment sectors. Specifically, they plan to implement steps such as discovering and supporting new content businesses, revitalizing culture, tourism, and investment, and exchanging global networks. They plan to expand their presence in the European market by developing joint business models that combine local Spanish infrastructure with Korean content production technology.

Targeting the Global Market Based on Director Myoungwoo Lee's Directorial Capabilities Seen in 'Boyhood'

The Studio M has built its production capabilities through the works of director Myoungwoo Lee, who has demonstrated versatile directing skills across various genres with dramas such as 'One Ordinary Day', 'Boyhood', and 'Doctor Somboy'. With this agreement, the company will expand its scope of cooperation to include not only global co-productions but also cultural exchange events and investment-linked businesses.

A representative from The Studio M stated, "Based on our partnership with Agencia Granada Global, we plan to review various cooperation possibilities such as global co-productions, cultural exchange events, and investment-linked businesses. We will actively seek out new opportunities in the global content market."
