'The East Palace' tells the story of Gu Cheon (played by Nam Joo Hyuk), who possesses the ability to traverse the world of ghosts, and Saenggang (played by Roh Yoon-seo), a court lady harboring a secret. Upon being summoned by the King (played by Cho Seung-woo), they delve into the curse dwelling within the East Palace.

15 Behind-the-Scenes Stills Capturing the Actors' Performances

On July 29, 2026, Netflix released 15 behind-the-scenes stills capturing the making of the production. In the released photos, Nam Joo Hyuk is seen checking the monitor after performing an action scene, while Roh Yoon-seo is captured with an immersed expression in her character and bursting into laughter off-camera. Cho Seung-woo conveyed the atmosphere on set with a smile behind the camera.

Kwak Dong-yeon, appearing as the Crown Prince ghost, and Jang Young-nam, playing the role of the consort, also delivered performances in every episode. To realize the fantasy worldview, the production team utilized various filming techniques and VFX (Visual Effects) and constructed diverse sets.
