Ok Jin-uk makes his DAZED debut in geek-chic glasses
Ok Jin-uk reveals his first fashion pictorial in DAZED's August 2026 issue and discusses Teach You a Lesson and his acting philosophy.
"I pull out what is inside me." Actor Ok Jin-uk has revealed his first fashion pictorial through the August 2026 issue of the fashion magazine DAZED. In this shoot, he showcased a diverse range of images, pulling off everything from black-and-white styling and classic black setups to trendy geek-chic eyewear. He asserted his presence by delivering flexible poses and expressions tailored to each outfit.

A Multifaceted Look in the DAZED Pictorial
In an interview conducted alongside the photoshoot, Ok Jin-uk opened up about his character, Jo In-beom, from the recent Netflix series Teach You a Lesson. He revealed that he actively utilizes his inner self when building a character. "When creating a character, I tend to always pull out what is inside me," Ok Jin-uk said. In particular, Jo In-beom's bright and playful personality resonates with his actual self. He explained the connection between himself and the character, stating, "While the outward appearance is different, Jo In-beom's playful and bright side is a side that exists in me as well."
However, clear differences between the character and himself also exist. Ok Jin-uk pointed out that Jo In-beom is a person who pursues outward strength, adding that this is a point where he differs from the character. "Jo In-beom is a character who pursues outward strength, but I tend to suppress things internally during difficult moments to become inner-strong, so that point is very different," he said.
Encountering a New Self Through Monitoring
He also shared his honest feelings regarding the process of getting to know himself through acting. "I am learning a lot about myself through acting. When I monitor my work, I discover facial expressions and voices I've never seen before, making me feel that there are various sides to me," Ok Jin-uk said.
He maintains firm standards regarding his attitude on set. "Once I finish acting in front of the camera, I consider my role to be over," Ok Jin-uk emphasized. He made his mindset clear, noting that he disciplines himself not to anticipate or imagine results in advance, aiming to stay centered without being swayed by outcomes or reactions.
Active in both dramas and musicals, Ok Jin-uk first gained public recognition through KBS Be My Dream Family, before appearing in Cherry Blossoms After Winter, Revenge of Others, and I Am a Running Mate. He has also appeared on stage in The Creature, The Show! Silla-Gyeongju, and Girlfriends, and most recently, he is performing the role of Will in the musical Girlfriends.
