Teach You a Lesson takes off as YLAB sets 21 projects in motion
YLAB unveils 21 video projects after Teach You a Lesson reaches No. 6 globally on Netflix, with Study Group Season 2 filming with Hwang Minhyun.
21 New Video Projects Following the Success of 'Teach You a Lesson'
Based on the achievement of the Netflix series 'Teach You a Lesson' entering the 6th place in the global TV show viewership rankings just one month after its release, production company YLAB has unveiled its upcoming video lineup to be carried out starting from the second half of the year. Currently, approximately 21 new video projects are underway, including works utilizing original webtoon IP and pure originals.
YLAB is building an ecosystem where about 110 works are connected under four systems: Blue String, Super String, Red String, and Gold String.
'Study Group Season 2' Starring Hwang Minhyun and the Blue String Lineup
The TVING original series 'Study Group Season 2' is the first to be named in the lineup. Based on the popular webtoon, this work tells the story of a protagonist who is more talented at fighting than studying and forms a study group. Season 1, released this past January 2025, recorded 1st place in the number of paid subscribers for five consecutive weeks. Actor Hwang Minhyun is starring in Season 2 as well and is currently undergoing filming.
Other works in the Blue String universe are also in the stages of video production. 'Hallym Gymnasium - Jeon Young-ha (working title)', a spin-off of 'Study Group', is being developed as a film. 'The World is Money and Power' is also in the planning and development stage for video adaptation.
Film Adaptation of 'Resurrection Man' and Romance IP Drama Development
Works from the Super String universe are being prepared separately as dramas and films. 'Resurrection Man', the grand prize winner of the 2017 'SPP Webtoon Awards', will be released as the film 'Resurrection Man: The Red' in the second half of the year. Scriptwriting for the drama series 'Neolithic Girl' is currently in progress.
Romance IPs from Red String and Gold String are also in the drama scriptwriting stage. This includes 'If We Break Up, We Die', which depicts survival romance in disaster situations, and 'Past Life Connection', a reincarnation romance. Separately from the video projects, YLAB plans to continue supplying new webtoons, including the recently launched 'Contract Enrollment' and new spin-off works of 'Hallym Gymnasium'.
