Lee Joon catches 2 Days and 1 Night cast off guard: push us harder
Lee Joon surprises the 2 Days and 1 Night set with a tougher-shoot request, while Kim Jong Min gives DinDin rare praise.
Lee Joon made an unexpected request to the production team while filming KBS2’s variety program “2 Days and 1 Night.” During the shoot, the cast member turned to the staff and said, “Please push us harder,” a remark that immediately shifted the mood on set.

The moment came during filming for the second part of the show’s “2026 Summer Workshop,” after all six members had taken part in a mutual evaluation session. The producers reacted warmly to Lee Joon’s sudden enthusiasm, but the other members were visibly caught off guard because the request had not been discussed with them in advance. On set, the cast stirred in surprise as they responded to what felt like Lee Joon’s unilateral appeal to make the shoot even more demanding.
Earlier at base camp, the team had been carrying out the workshop schedule and held a mutual evaluation segment designed to strengthen bonds among the members. Kim Jong Min, a 19-year member of “2 Days and 1 Night,” gave DinDin a candid assessment, calling him “an essential talent for our program.”
Kim Jong Min did not stop there. He added that DinDin was also the colleague he had the most to learn from, offering an unexpectedly strong compliment in front of the group. DinDin responded with a bright smile, openly showing how pleased he was by the praise.
The cast had been continuing a grueling trip befitting the show’s reputation as a “real hardship variety” program. Taking that demanding schedule into account, the production team promised that every member would be allowed to sleep indoors and would also receive late-night snacks.
The members, however, did not accept the promise at face value. Their reaction was one of suspicion, as they said, “There must be something else coming,” reflecting their expectation that the staff might still have another twist prepared.
In the end, the production team’s promise was kept. The specific reason behind that promise will be revealed on the broadcast of “2 Days and 1 Night,” airing on the 26th at 6:10 p.m.
