Director Jang Hang-jun has been named main MC of SBS Plus' new history-tracking variety show Time Tracker Seollok. The July 14 premiere will feature Bong Tae-gyu, Shin A-young and Sun Kim exploring stories behind historical records.
Director Jang Hang-jun has been chosen as the main MC of SBS Plus' new history-tracking variety program Time Tracker Seollok. After drawing 16.89 million admissions with the film The King's Warden, Jang is meeting viewers again as an entertainment show host, following his MC role on KBS2's Happy Together - Because I'm Glad I'm Not Alone.

Time Tracker Seollok is scheduled to premiere on July 14 at 10:30 p.m. On the program, Jang Hang-jun will lead a history talk format with actor Bong Tae-gyu, broadcaster Shin A-young, and history storyteller Sun Kim, moving between official history and unofficial accounts as they examine the past.
The SBS Plus premiere on July 14 marks the launch of a variety show built around tracing history through hidden clues. Time Tracker Seollok digs into the stories concealed behind a single line of record, filling in the blanks inside familiar historical events. The program focuses on the cracks, reversals, and overlooked turns embedded in historical incidents.
In the official poster that has been released, director Jang Hang-jun appears in a style reminiscent of master detective Sherlock Holmes. Under the concepts of a history talk show that transcends time and space and a format that awakens the secrets of history, the cast will move between past and present as they follow clues from history.
Bong Tae-gyu, Shin A-young, and Sun Kim are joining the lineup, forming a group designed to support Jang Hang-jun's talk-driven presence. Actor Bong Tae-gyu will add a different perspective alongside Jang, while Shin A-young, a broadcaster who studied history at Harvard University, will take on the role of identifying and clarifying historical facts.
Sun Kim, a storyteller who covers both Korean history and world history, will also contribute to the program. The show is expected to combine Jang Hang-jun's wit, Bong Tae-gyu's sensibility, Shin A-young's knowledge, and Sun Kim's broad range of stories to unpack behind-the-scenes accounts from history that many viewers may not have known.
Jang Hang-jun began his career in 1996 as the screenwriter of the film The Adventures of Mrs. Park and made his debut as a director with Break Out in 2002. He continued building his filmography by directing Spring Breeze, Forgotten, Rebound, Open the Door, and other works.
The King's Warden, released in February this year, drew 16.89 million moviegoers and rose to second place on the all-time Korean box-office admissions chart. Its admissions total ranks behind The Admiral: Roaring Currents, which recorded 17.61 million admissions, while its cumulative theatrical revenue surpassed 163 billion won, setting an all-time record for the highest box-office gross.
After that box-office success, Jang Hang-jun was selected as an MC for KBS2's Happy Together - Because I'm Glad I'm Not Alone alongside Yoo Jae-suk, Yoon Jong-shin, and others. He is now continuing his entertainment activities as the main MC of Time Tracker Seollok.
