XLOV's Genderless Stage Becomes Clearer with 'I,God'... Wumuti Speaks of a "Window"
XLOV clarifies their genderless identity through the 2nd mini album 'I,God' and title track 'SERVE', moving beyond mere buzz to artistic expression.
XLOV has once again stated that they do not intend to consume their one-line introduction as a 'genderless group' merely as topical buzz. Leader Wumuti explained the reason why the team chose this path during recent interviews and showcases, and that direction has become clearer through activities for their 2nd mini album 'I,God'.

The core is not the flashy styling itself. The genderless concept spoken of by XLOV is closer to a declaration that they will stand on stage as the versions of themselves they like, rather than escaping the gazes that pre-divide masculinity and femininity.
Wumuti's "Window in a Wall Where Light Did Not Reach"
Wumuti said that before their debut, simply becoming celebrities was not enough. It meant that the decision that the team must have something to say to the world came first. Thus, the expression he brought forth was "a window in a wall where light did not reach."
XLOV is a four-member multinational boy group consisting of Wumuti, Rui, Hyun, and Haru. They debuted on January 7, 2025, and the team name combines 'X', meaning imperfection, with 'LOV', meaning incomplete love.
This explanation is revealed more directly on stage. Skirts and pants, heavy makeup and powerful dance lines collide within a single frame, and the members do not hide that collision. XLOV's genderless concept is closer to a starting point that distinguishes the team rather than a decorative modifier.
7 Tracks of 'I,God' and Title Track 'SERVE'
The second mini album 'I,God', released on May 27, is an album that pushes this direction once more. It contains 7 tracks, including the title track 'SERVE', as well as '法則:THE RULES', 'Extancy', 'BACK 2 BACK', 'HIPS', 'Masterpiece', and 'SERVE' instrumental.
Wumuti explained that 'SERVE' is the first song where they challenged voguing. Voguing is a dance style where the lines of the arms and hands, poses, and eye contact are important, which aligns with the androgynous image XLOV has put forward.
This concept continues in the official music video. The 'SERVE' MV surpassed 4.6 million views in its third week of release. The members move between dark spaces and strong lighting, appearing as unfamiliar beings rather than setting themselves up as objects of worship.
The fact that actress Han So-hee participated in the music video is also notable. Wumuti revealed that the connection with Han So-hee began with music and art, and that her support led to her appearance.
March Europe Tour Sold Out in 3 Countries
The initial response is not small. During the March Europe tour, it is known that performances in the UK with 3000 seats, France with 2580 seats, and Romania with 4000 seats were sold out. Although they are still a team unfamiliar to the domestic public, XLOV's strong image and stage format moved first within the overseas K-pop fandom.
Now, the task remaining for the team is to carry the concept forward through the power of their performance. The phrase 'K-pop's first genderless' brings rapid attention to rookies, but the strength to endure comes ultimately from the songs and the stage. This is also why Wumuti drew a line, saying, "I have no desire to approach through topicality."
Even if the concept is known first, the reason audiences return is created when the vocals, choreography, song completeness, and individual member characters are all convincing. Beyond the explanation of 'genderless', the task ahead for the team is to leave the name XLOV through the stages after 'SERVE' and their next song.
