Bella steps into Sunny Ten's spotlight as JUNHO in stage debut

WeZag member Bella has been cast as the lead character JUNHO in the 15th season of the musical 'Sunny Ten' and will give his first performance on July 30 at JTN Art Hall 1 in Daehangno, Jongno-gu, Seoul. His agency, A-Tunes Corporation, announced the casting and said the production will mark Bella's first appearance on a musical stage since his debut.

In 'Sunny Ten,' Bella plays JUNHO, an aspiring producer who must win the heart of Lee Hye-young, the daughter of a broadcasting station director, within 10 days in order to earn an opportunity to direct a television program. Lee Hye-young has a different goal of her own: she can leave to study in the United Kingdom only if JUNHO dumps her within that same 10-day period. The musical centers on the crossed romantic timing of two people who approach each other with conflicting plans.

The work uses that push-and-pull relationship to create lighthearted comedy, while also unfolding the conflicts and shifting emotions of youth through music and acting. The story's humor comes from the way JUNHO and Lee Hye-young interact while each is trying to achieve a separate outcome, turning their mismatched intentions into the central engine of the romance.

Through his agency, Bella said, "Because this is my first challenge in musical theater, I am nervous, but I am learning a lot every day while rehearsing with good actors." He added, "Starting with the first performance on July 30, I will do my best to convey JUNHO's bright and sincere charm to the audience."

Bella plans to use his bright image and delicate emotional expression to emphasize JUNHO's fresh yet slyly confident appeal. The role gives him a chance to show a different side from his group activities, placing his vocal ability, performance sense, and acting in direct contact with a live theater audience.

A-Tunes Corporation described Bella as "an artist with vocal ability and performance skills, as well as a bright character and delicate expressiveness." The agency said it plans to actively support him so that, beginning with 'Sunny Ten,' he can show the full range of his potential across music, performance, acting, and other fields.

Bella is expected to continue WeZag activities while also carrying out his musical schedule. Attention is turning to how he will demonstrate a more developed set of stage skills through the production, especially because the casting is being presented as a new opportunity to display his versatility beyond the stages he has already performed on since debut.

Bella first became known to the public under his real name, Kim Seung-hyuk, when he appeared on Channel A's boy-group audition program 'Youth Star' and finished as runner-up. He later began activities as a member of WeZag, performing between Korea and Japan.

WeZag presents itself with the identity of moving forward in its own direction rather than following a predetermined path. The group has been active in both Korea and Japan, and Bella has shown stable singing ability and bright energy on various stages since his debut. His casting in this musical is being viewed as another moment that can highlight his wide-ranging capabilities.
