The song title 'Itsy Bitzy' carries an interpretation different from the image of 'smallness' found in the song 'Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini' released by Brian Hyland in 1960. Rather than defining smallness as weakness, Brown defines it as a reversal of energy that moves faster and more unpredictably to dominate a space, translating this concept musically.
The Birth of the 'Zungk Pop' Genre
This single puts 'Zungk Pop' at the forefront, a genre that musically implements 'Zungk,' the independent universe designed by Brown. 'Zungk' refers to an attitude of attempting to recombine different sensations left behind through countless processes of selection and elimination in one's own unique way.
In terms of sound, intense electric bass and sharp guitar riffs surge based on a fast tempo. Multi-layered sample layers and a high-speed string section in the latter half of the song create a collision between sounds, characterized by Brown's clear vocals maintaining the center amidst that chaos.
