RESCENE rides the Geoje Yahoo meme from tiny agency to new dorm
On MBC's Omniscient Interfering View, RESCENE's Love Attack surge reveals a 10 million won startup, Geoje tears and a new dorm.
An agency founded with 10 million won, starting with members who didn't even know how to wear in-ears
Girl group RESCENE is writing their own story of a 'small agency miracle.' The MBC program 'Omniscient Interfering View' aired on the 11th, capturing the daily lives of RESCENE, who recently sparked a reverse climb in popularity with 'Love Attack.'

Behind RESCENE stands their agency, The Muse Entertainment. CEO Lee Ju-heon, formerly of the vocal group Highbrow, and Director Kim Hye-soo, who are seniors and juniors from Berklee College of Music, pooled their money to establish a corporation with just 10 million won. In the early days, lacking any experience in the entertainment industry, they started in such harsh conditions that they even had to ask managers of other artists for help on how to wear in-ears.
The promotion process was equally intense. The CEO and the head of the division printed hundreds of profiles and delivered them directly to broadcasting stations. CEO Lee even wrote handwritten letters or visited stations carrying cakes. Although they faced difficulties so severe that they could only secure a single music show appearance after their debut, the members worked tirelessly, producing 1,500 pieces of content over two years to make themselves known.
The 'Geoje Yahoo' meme drives reverse climb, moving from a one-bathroom dorm to a new home
The driving force behind their reverse climb was the love from fans and the 'Geoje Yahoo' meme. RESCENE revisited their hometown of Geoje. Member WONI fulfilled her bucket list item of holding a mini fan-meeting in her hometown and even shed tears while reuniting with the mother of a friend she had known since childhood. On-site, they were welcomed by citizens while shouting 'Geoje Yahoo' alongside actress Park Jung-soo.
The fruits of their success have manifested in a change in their living environment. Previously, the five members had to share a single bathroom, but their recently moved-into new dorm now features three bathrooms. The new home, equipped with a spacious living room and kitchen, includes two rooms for two people and a private room for the leader, WONI. Director Kim Hye-soo even personally participated in the interior design to ensure the members could rest comfortably.
The situation has changed 180 degrees. In the past, they had to send hundreds of inquiries to the channels they wanted to appear on, but now, broadcasting stations often contact them first. Inquiries for advertisements alone have exceeded 100 cases. Lee Young Ja, who watched their growth process in the studio, grew teary-eyed, expressing her desire to see RESCENE grow even larger.
