KINO turns a Tokyo dinner into a prelude for PENTAGON's return
KINO shares Tokyo dinner photos while touring with FREE KINO, as PENTAGON prepares a July 21 anniversary song project.
KINO (Kang Hyung-gu) of the group PENTAGON has revealed a night spent in Tokyo, Japan. On the 27th, KINO posted photos of himself having dinner with an acquaintance at a restaurant in Tokyo.
The post captured the Tokyo night view visible through the window along with the dishes on the table. He is currently continuing his solo activities through his personal label NAKED and is conducting the solo world tour 'FREE KINO'.
'FREE KINO' started in Seoul on January 24
Starting with the Seoul performance on January 24, KINO is continuing his solo world tour 'FREE KINO', which connects Europe, Asia, and the United States. He is meeting his global fandom by performing in various cities, including Tokyo.
He made his solo debut in 2022 with the special single 'POSE', and in 2024, he released the 1st mini album 'If this is love, I want a refund' and the single 'Dancing On The Road' in succession.
From Urban Boyz to winning 'Hidden: The Performance'
KINO has also been active as a choreographer and producer. During his teens, he mastered various genres such as hip-hop, popping, locking, and house in the street dance crew Urban Boyz, and continued his dance studies at the Practical Dance Department of Hanlim Multi Art School and the Sejong University Future Education Institute.
When working on the title track 'Daisy' for PENTAGON's 10th mini album 'WE:TH', he directly participated in choreography recruitment and detailed work. On the KakaoTV original 'Hidden: The Performance', he won with a medium dance track 'Up&Down' performed alongside rapper Peakboy.
On SoundCloud, he is steadily building his solo music by releasing self-composed songs under the name 'Knnovation'.
July 21st Debut 10th Anniversary Project
PENTAGON will conduct a project to commemorate their 10th anniversary on July 21st. This is a new song project presented approximately three years after their debut with the 1st mini album 'PENTAGON' on October 10, 2016.
Seven members, including Jinho, Hui, Hongseok, Shinwon, Yeo One, KINO, and WOOSEOK, will participate in this project. This activity comes after a hiatus following the 2023 digital single 'Promise', and a global tour is also planned alongside the release of the new song.
In PENTAGON, KINO has served as a sub-vocalist and main dancer, taking responsibility for the delicate vocal parts and the team's choreography. His stage name, derived from his real name Kang Hyung-gu, was decided after consulting with his father, adding a nuance that signifies innovation.
He usually shares his daily life with his pet cat and his tastes for books and flowers with fans. The photos posted from the Tokyo restaurant were also a recent update shared with fans during the period transitioning between the world tour and the 10th anniversary project.
