K.A.R.D's first full album closes DSP Media era, not the group

Co-ed group K.A.R.D is taking a brief pause from the team activities they have maintained for nine years. The four-member group consisting of BM, Jeon So-min, Jeon Ji-woo, and J.seph released their first full-length album, 'Where To Now? (Part.2) : NOWHERE', at 6 p.m. on the 28th.

"Not a disbandment, but the end of the journey with DSP Media"

The members drew a line, stating that this decision does not mean a disbandment, which would signify the end of the team. During a joint interview held on the 21st at the cafe on the first floor of their agency DSP Media in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, they stated, "It is not a disbandment. It is the conclusion of our journey with DSP Media." While they left open the possibility of gathering again to release a commemorative album if good opportunities arise or if they assist each other with featuring in the future, there are no plans to release new albums as K.A.R.D for the time being.

"Regret over limited domestic activities, feeling sorry to fans"

The background behind choosing to suspend activities included regrets regarding their domestic activities. While K.A.R.D achieved success in the global market, including South America, surpassing 3.73 million YouTube subscribers (as of 10 a.m. on July 28th) and completing world tours in North and South America, they faced difficulties in building recognition relatively in Korea.

J.seph said, "Excluding overseas schedules over the past 10 years, domestic schedules were 'Nothing.'" He added, "There is much regret that if we had had domestic recognition, we would have lived even more diligently during that time."

Jeon Ji-woo also added, "Even though our schedules were mainly overseas, fans came to the airport and fan signings every time to give us infinite love. That is why I feel even more sorry." She continued, "Thinking of the fans, I feel apologetic and grateful, but I could not simply tell them to wait blindly."

First full-length album 'NOWHERE' concentrating 9 years of records

This first full-length album 'NOWHERE' is an extension of the 7th mini album released last August. It carries the meaning of wandering through 'a place that is nowhere' only to realize that 'right now, here (NOW HERE)' is the most shining destination. The title track 'Back To Life' is a song where they worked to recreate K.A.R.D's early colors. BM said, "Because I had a strong desire for it to have a lot of that early scent, I worked hard to revive the synth sounds and Moombahton patterns."

The album contains a total of 10 tracks. It includes 'Armor', 'Signal', the fan song 'Always', and 'At Least', as well as individual solo songs: BM's 'Move', J.seph's 'EASY', Jeon So-min's 'Backseat', and Jeon Ji-woo's 'Home Sweet Home'. BM provided the group songs and the members' solo songs without receiving composition fees.
