(G)I-DLE, now in their 9th year since debut, held a comeback showcase at the YES24 Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, on the 6th to unveil their 9th mini album, We Made. This album was planned to reflect the members' original passion and love for music.

(G)I-DLE Unveils 9th Mini Album 'Wife Made' at Comeback Showcase

The title track, 'Gimme dat luv,' is a Latin pop dance song that incorporates traditional Central and South American rhythms. By adding lyrical melodies to upbeat drum sounds, the group emphasized a more mainstream feel compared to their previous works. The members explained that, unlike their past summer hits such as 'Dumdi Dum Di' or 'Klaxon,' they prepared an 'fighting fire with fire' style track that captures intense heat.

The album contains a total of 5 songs. In addition to the title track, it includes the R&B ballad 'Love Is Pain,' which member Yuqi participated in writing and composing. The pre-released track 'Crow' and 'Morning,' which depicts the happy start of daily life, are also included.

Respect and Support for All Forms of Love

Through the music video for this album, (G)I-DLE continued their support for minorities by portraying various forms of love. This aligns with their February release 'Mono,' which supported the queer community by referencing sexual minorities. Soyeon stated, "We made this album to mean that we respect all love and all things," adding, "I am grateful if anyone found strength through this."

Previewing the Main Stage at Chicago Lollapalooza

(G)I-DLE has been meeting fans worldwide through their world tour, which began this February at the KSPO Dome in Seoul Olympic Park. Following their achievement as the first K-pop girl group to perform at the Taipei Dome, they drew a total of 80,000 spectators over two days at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong.

Building on this momentum, (G)I-DLE will take the main stage at 'Lollapalooza,' a major music festival held in Chicago, USA, on the 31st (local time). Minnie expressed, "It is a great honor just to participate in Lollapalooza," and added, "I want to put on an amazing performance using the energy I received from fans through the tour."

Yuqi shared the emotions she felt during the stadium tour. "So many fans came to the stadium tour that it didn't feel real," Yuqi said. "Seeing fans who do not know Korean all singing along to the Korean lyrics made me realize that music connects people, even when languages are different."

Reflecting on their nine years of activity, the members at the showcase clarified their musical direction. They shared their thoughts, saying, "During our nine years of activity, we had a strong desire to try new things through various experiments. We decided that we must focus on the essence of 'good music,' much like 'Mono' which we released this past February."
