New 'Kkunman Gatatda' video released in collaboration with Um-yul

Female duo Dodree has revealed a new side of themselves through a musical variation. On the 20th, Dodree released a new video for their original content series 'Kkunman Gatatda' via their official SNS channels.

The video is a reinterpretation of 'Sagye Yeonseo,' a track from their second digital single 'HAWWAH (夏渦),' performed in an alternative rock style. Set against the backdrop of a lush green park, the live performance blends the vocals of Dodree with the mixed-gender duo Um-yul to capture the essence of youth. 'Sagye Yeonseo,' a song that sings of longing through the four seasons, has been reborn with a different sonic texture through this arrangement.

Genre expansion of Korean traditional music majors and original content 'Kkunman Gatatda'

Dodree, who debuted on January 21, is a team formed by Na Young-ju, a Korean traditional music major, and Lee Song-hyun, a Korean dance major. Much like their team name—which combines 'Dodree,' a traditional Korean rhythmic pattern, with 'Free'—they identify as 'K-crossover Pop,' blending modern Pop sounds with Korean traditional elements.

The original content 'Kkunman Gatatda' was designed to diversify the team's musical color by collaborating with artists recognized for their skills in specific genres. Dodree has covered a wide range of genres, from a cappella to electronica, math rock, city pop, and jazz. This alternative rock version is a continuation of these experimental steps.

Dodree plans to continue communicating with fans through content that integrates various genres such as rock, jazz, and electronica while maintaining their identity rooted in Korean traditional music.
