The animated film 'David' is shattering religious film box office records immediately upon release. Over the two days from the 11th to the 12th, the film drew 49,834 spectators. This figure surpasses the 45,049 spectators who attended the opening weekend of 'Faith's Orchestra,' which was released on December 31 last year and eventually drew 1.45 million viewers.

Park Bo-gum to Make Voice Acting Debut in Animated Film 'David'

Directed by Phil Cunningham and Brent Dos, the film depicts the journey of David, an ordinary shepherd, as he faces his destiny as a king and confronts the giant Goliath. Lotte Entertainment is handling the import and distribution, and the film is currently playing in theaters nationwide.

Audience ratings on major film platforms are also high. The CGV Egg Index stands at 96%, and the Naver real viewer rating is 9.68. The film is maintaining consistently high scores across major platforms, including 9.8 on Lotte Cinema and 9.5 on Megabox.

Park Bo Gum and Cha Jiyeon's Voice Acting and OST Become Hot Topics

Actor Park Bo Gum's voice acting is cited as a key factor in the film's success. Park Bo Gum provided the Korean dubbing and singing for the protagonist, David. Cha Jiyeon joined the cast, adding depth to the vocal performances. The duet number performed by the two actors has become such a sensation that audiences are continuously requesting a music release.

The musical quality has also enhanced the immersive experience. On the 10th, the music video for the OST 'Tapestry,' sung by Cha Jiyeon, was released. The song captures the anxiety of David, who must accept his destiny as king, and the comforting heart of his mother, Nitzebet.

Online, cover videos of the OST 'Shalom' are being rapidly shared, centered around various praise ministry teams. Concept stills featuring a tapestry theme, reflecting the film's visual message, have also been released. The Korean dubbing for this work features actors including Park Bo Gum, Jang Gwang, Cha Jiyeon, Song Joon-seok, and Si Young-jun.
