Choi Ye-na reaches No. 5 on Oricon with Hatsune Miku collaboration; third single also hits top ranks

Choi Ye-na has reached a peak of 5th place on the Oricon Daily Single Ranking with her third Japanese single, 'Mirror Mirror / STAR! (feat. Hatsune Miku)'. Her ongoing activities in Japan, following the release of her third single, have once again been confirmed by high chart rankings.

This single was released on June 10. Based on Apple Music, it consists of 3 songs with a total duration of 8 minutes, featuring the double title tracks 'Mirror Mirror' and 'STAR! (feat. Hatsune Miku)', along with the Japanese version of 'NEMONEMO'.

Release of 3-song single on June 10

'Mirror Mirror' is a Japanese original song used as the ending theme for the TV animation 'DIGIMON BEATBREAK'. While Choi Ye-na has established herself in Korea with bright and kitschy energy, she has translated that image into the rhythm and character of her Japanese songs.

'STAR! (feat. Hatsune Miku)' is a collaboration track with Hatsune Miku, who represents Japanese Vocaloid culture. In the official music video, Choi Ye-na's bright facial expressions appear alongside a digital character, showcasing a combination of a real-life idol and a virtual vocal.

All three Japanese singles reach Oricon top ranks

Choi Ye-na recorded 4th place on the Oricon Daily Single Ranking and 10th place on the Weekly Single Ranking with her 2023 Japanese debut single 'SMILEY-Japanese Ver. (feat. Chanmina)'. Her second single in 2024, 'DNA', started at 9th on the daily ranking and rose to 7th on the Weekly Single Ranking.

The peak of 5th place for her third single stands alongside these records. Choi Ye-na's Japanese activities, which have sequentially built up through Japanese songs, local events, animation tie-ups, and collaborations, have once again made their mark on the charts.

Release coincides with domestic 'Catch Catch' momentum

This Japanese single release coincided with her domestic activities. The title track 'Catch Catch' from her 5th mini-album 'LOVE CATCHER', released last March, showed strong staying power by entering the top 10 of the Melon Top 100 some time after its release.
