"Five minutes of continuous cheering, an unforgettable moment"

Charlie Puth brings a life-changing cheer back to Goyang Stadium

Pop star Charlie Puth will reunite with Korean fans at the Goyang Stadium in Gyeonggi-do at 7 PM on October 11. This performance is part of a world tour celebrating the release of his 4th studio album, 'Whatever's Clever!', and marks his first-ever stadium-scale stage during his visits to Korea.

His connection with Korea dates back 10 years. Recalling his first visit in 2016, Charlie Puth said, "The scale of the performance was much smaller than it is now, but I still cannot forget the moment the audience cheered continuously for five whole minutes." He added, "It felt like that moment changed my life."

With every visit to Korea, his fanbase has grown in scale. Starting with a sold-out show in 2016, he moved to Jamsil Indoor Stadium in 2018, KSPO DOME in 2023, and Gocheok Sky Dome in 2024, breaking audience mobilization records each time. Through this Goyang Stadium performance, Charlie Puth officially transitions from arenas to stadiums.

Life as a father, and a new album filled with sincerity

During this tour, Charlie Puth will reinterpret his early hits with a full band sound while also performing many tracks from his new album, 'Whatever's Clever!'. "Although the scale of the performance has grown, I want to maintain the intimate atmosphere that I consider most important," he said, teasing a special medley and surprise stages prepared specifically for this show.

The 4th album, released this past March, is the result of the changes he has experienced since becoming a father. Charlie Puth described this album as "the album I worked on most freely," explaining, "Since these songs were written while experiencing my new life as a father, they contain a more honest and comfortable atmosphere than ever before." In particular, 'Love in Exile,' a collaboration with Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins, captures the honor he felt working with such legendary musicians.

Regarding the secret behind his numerous hits—such as 'Left and Right' featuring Jungkook [BTS] and 'We Don't Talk Anymore' featuring Selena Gomez—he revealed his musical philosophy: "Ultimately, the most important thing is to put your heart into it. Rather than calculating, I focus on honest emotions."

Connection with K-pop artists and family as a driving force

He also shared specific thoughts on his experience collaborating with K-pop artists. He mentioned being surprised by the effort and attention to detail shown by K-pop singers such as BTS, Stray Kids, and Babymonster. Recalling his experience of completing a song with Stray Kids in just one night, he said, "It was impressive to see how they focused until the very end to perfectly express their respective vocal parts."

What sustains him through a busy tour schedule is his family. Time spent with his wife, Brooke, and son, Jude, is his greatest motivation during the tour. "No matter how busy the tour is, I try not to miss the small moments with my son. I gain strength from the adrenaline and seeing my son's smile through FaceTime," he said.

Having started his career with the 2015 debut single 'Marvin Gaye,' Charlie Puth established himself as a global star through 'See You Again' with Wiz Khalifa, which spent 12 weeks at number one on the Billboard singles chart.
