Uhm Jeong-hwa's tears as she rises above the trauma of vocal cord paralysis

Singer and actress Uhm Jeong-hwa recently revealed her intense daily life preparing for the stage through her YouTube channel, 'Umaizing Uhm Jeong-hwa TV.'

The video captures her dedicating herself to everything from high-intensity training and costume fittings to vocal exercises and choreography mastery for a music festival stage scheduled for mid-June. A particularly striking moment is the tears that burst forth during her vocal training. Having suffered from vocal cord nerve damage as a complication following thyroid cancer surgery in 2010, Uhm Jeong-hwa carried deep trauma, even contemplating retirement because her voice would not come out properly.

During the lesson, Uhm Jeong-hwa showed anxiety as she self-censored her own voice. However, she finally burst into tears after her vocal trainer encouraged her, saying, "Aren't you singing as if to show everyone that you can, even when they say you can't?"

"Why don't they call me?" A playful pledge toward Waterbomb

Uhm Jeong-hwa's signature cool charm also shone through during the practice process. While practicing choreography, she expressed cute dissatisfaction toward the dancers, asking, "No, why don't they call me to summer festivals?"

In a surprise video message directed at the camera, she asked, "Waterbomb, can't you call Uhm Jeong-hwa too?" She drew laughter by making a bold pledge, channeling her past status as the 'Summer Queen' by stating, "I'll go wearing a swimsuit."

The festival stage, perfected through rigorous self-management, was a success. After finishing her performance, Uhm Jeong-hwa shared her overwhelming emotions, saying, "I feel like I received a whole year's worth of love today."

She also expressed strong determination regarding her future activities. "I now have the confidence that I can do it. I want to continue making exciting and great stages like this for a long, long time," Uhm Jeong-hwa said. "Unless I end it, no one can end my stage."
