47 works following the path of a real exhibition hall

Model Lee Hye-seung is expanding her creative territory into digital spaces as the photographer 'HA ESUN.' Her agency, L Company, announced that HA ESUN's first solo exhibition, 'THE SELF OUTSIDE THE DOOR,' was released on the 20th in the form of a 3D online exhibition hall.

This online exhibition was produced based on the offline exhibition held this past May at the gallery 'a.p.a.p.' in Seochon, Seoul. 3D space technology studio StageAL collaborated with L Company to construct an environment similar to an actual exhibition space.

Visitors can move along a path that feels like walking through a real gallery using a PC mouse and keyboard, or via touch controls on mobile devices. The 3D recreation includes the wall configurations, artwork placement, and even the movement of visitors, featuring a total of 47 works. By clicking on a piece, viewers can zoom in to appreciate the fine details.

Artist voice guides provided and archive goods available for sale

The artist expressed her hope that visitors would not be confined to a specific interpretation while viewing the photographs. Accordingly, the information that appears when clicking on a work is limited to the location and timing of the shoot. Instead, she provides voice guides for the Korean and English prefaces, recorded by HA ESUN herself, to convey the philosophy behind the works.

Within the 'SHOP' menu of the exhibition hall, visitors can purchase archive prints of the exhibited works and a postcard set consisting of 8 types.

Having debuted in 2007, Lee Hye-seung has been active under contract with the global modeling agency IMG Models since 2011. After demonstrating her potential as an artist by publishing her first photobook in 2019, she established her identity as 'HA ESUN'—not as the subject, but as the proactive artist pressing the shutter—through her first solo exhibition this May.

"It is interesting that the story I thought ended when the exhibition hall doors closed is starting again in a new space," said HA ESUN. "I hope those who could not visit Seochon due to physical distance can meet 'another self standing outside the door' from their own places."

This 3D online exhibition is accessible to anyone for free via a web browser without the need to install a separate application.
