Byun Jin-sub Says LP Address Led to Move One Week After Student’s Fall
Byun Jin-sub recalled how fans gathered outside his home after his address appeared in an LP liner note. He said his family moved within a week after a middle school student fell while trying to see him.
Singer Byun Jin-sub revealed his past experience of moving houses just one week after a middle school girl fell, due to his home address being written in his LP album liner notes.
On the 4th, Byun Jin-sub appeared on MBN's 'Kim Ju-ha's Day and Night' alongside his 34-year friend, Olympic marathon gold medalist Hwang Young-cho, to recall those memories.
Fans Crowded in Front of House After LP Liner Address Was Revealed
At the time, as his songs gained massive popularity, Byun Jin-sub wrote his home address in the liner notes of his LP album. Once this address became known, the area in front of his house was swarmed with fans. To make matters worse, there was a girls' middle school right in front of his house.
To avoid the fans' visits, Byun Jin-sub had to live with all the windows closed, and he experienced inconveniences such as not being able to enter or leave his main gate freely outside of school class hours. He explained, "After the song became a hit and the house address was revealed, fans came to the front of the house."
School Requested Move Following Middle School Girl's Fall Accident
Then one day, while rushing out of the house, Byun Jin-sub encountered students during their break time. Amidst the crowd of students, a middle school girl fell from the second floor while trying to see Byun Jin-sub.
Byun Jin-sub recounted the moment, saying, "One day I was late and rushed out, and it coincided with break time. They all rushed toward me saying 'Wow,' and one of them fell from the second floor." Fortunately, the student was not seriously injured, but this incident became the decisive reason for Byun Jin-sub to move his residence.
Following the accident, the school requested Byun Jin-sub to move his residence to ensure student safety and prevent the accident from recurring. Byun Jin-sub said, "The vice principal came personally and asked my mother to move." Byun Jin-sub's mother also accepted the situation.
House Sold in One Week and Family Moved
Ultimately, Byun Jin-sub's family put the house on the market, and the property was sold within the short period of just one week. Recalling that time, Byun Jin-sub added, "We moved as if we were being kicked out."
During the broadcast, when Moon Se-yoon asked if he doesn't write his address anymore, Byun Jin-sub replied, "If I write it, I'm a crazy person." In this broadcast alongside Hwang Young-cho, with whom he has maintained a 34-year friendship, Byun Jin-sub calmly recounted the shocking events of his past.
