"She keeps repeating the same things" Im Hyuk sheds tears over changes in his wife

Television actor Im Hyuk burst into tears after learning of the health warning signs and the diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment for his wife, Kim Yeon-hee.

Im Hyuk recently revealed that anxiety has entered their daily lives as Kim Yeon-hee's behavior has changed noticeably. Kim Yeon-hee has recently shown symptoms of worsening forgetfulness, such as forgetting where objects are located or leaving lights on during the day. There was even an instance where she fell asleep while cooking and burned a pot.

"She keeps repeating the same questions, and if I say something, she forgets it," Im Hyuk confessed, expressing his struggles. In particular, he expressed his sorrow and fear that his wife's cognitive decline might worsen to the point where she no longer recognizes him in the future.

Diagnosis of 'Mild Cognitive Impairment'... "40% probability of progressing to dementia within 5 years"

To confirm her exact condition, the couple visited a hospital for EEG testing as well as memory and cognitive function tests. As a result of the tests, Kim Yeon-hee was diagnosed with 'mild cognitive impairment.'

The specialist who conducted the tests explained that Kim Yeon-hee's EEG results showed numerous red-colored brain waves, indicating that brain activity has slowed down. Her attention and memory are declining, with short-term memory being particularly diminished. Mild cognitive impairment is a diagnosis made when a person maintains most of their ability to perform daily activities.

Medical staff explained, "Approximately 40% of patients with mild cognitive impairment eventually progress to dementia within 5 years." However, they added the advice that prevention is possible if detected early, medication is taken, and improvements are made in daily life.

Diagnosis by Neurologist Director Jang Min Wook

The neurologist who conducted this examination is Director Jang Min Wook. Jang Min Wook recently drew public attention after announcing his remarriage to actress Bobo.

While checking Kim Yeon-hee's EEG status, Jang Min Wook pointed out the cause of the decline in attention and memory, explaining, "Red-colored brain waves mean that there are that many slow brain waves."

Meanwhile, Im Hyuk even wrote lyrics himself to convey his tender feelings for his wife. He confessed his love for her, delivering the message: "Blooming like a brightly smiling flower, living happily, and ending beautifully while laughing joyfully."
