Yumi makes a beeline for Ahn Sung-hoon as Huh Chanmi gets sidelined
On TV CHOSUN's Miss Trot For You, Yumi flirts with Ahn Sung-hoon, duets with Huh Chanmi and debuts Jang Yoon-jeong’s new trot song.
Yumi's Direct Approach to Ahn Sung-hoon and the Birth of 'Huh Chan-bab'
On the episode of TV CHOSUN's 'Miss Trot For You' aired on the 9th, Yumi caught everyone's attention when she appeared under the nickname 'I Came to See Ahn Sung-hoon.' Having previously finished in 10th place on 'Miss Trot 4,' Yumi immediately expressed her unfiltered affection for Ahn Sung-hoon upon her entrance, saying, "I missed you so much."

This stage was made possible through a 'Celebrity Casting Pass' that Huh Chanmi had worked hard to obtain to bring Yumi in as her partner. However, as Yumi's gaze remained fixed solely on Ahn Sung-hoon, Huh Chanmi, the person who actually made the casting, was left sidelined. The atmosphere on set heated up instantly as the cast members jokingly dubbed her 'Huh Chan-bab' (Huh Chanmi's meal/leftover).
The 'Someone's Dream' Duet and the Twist of 175 Points
Yumi and Huh Chanmi performed the duet song 'Someone's Dream.' Immediately following the performance, Ahn Sung-hoon praised their vocal abilities, stating, "If the two of you had competed in a single song battle, I wouldn't have been able to choose." When Boom urged him to make a choice, Ahn Sung-hoon replied, "That was before the flirting started," sending the studio into fits of laughter.
While their chemistry drew praise, their score stopped at 175 points. This result stood in stark contrast to Boom's earlier comment that if they reached the 190s, Ahn Sung-hoon would promise to get engaged. Regarding the low score, Boom used a witty metaphor, saying, "You'll understand when you get married later. It's like, 'You've come all this way, so why is there no envelope?'"
Yumi's New Trot Song 'Love Always Blooms Again' Featuring Jang Yoon-jeong
The broadcast also revealed Yumi's musical transformation. For the first time in her 25-year debut career, Yumi performed her new trot song, 'Love Always Blooms Again,' in a broadcast premiere. The song's quality was elevated by Jang Yoon-jeong, who participated in both writing the lyrics and composing the music.
Reflections from the other performers followed. '20th Century Girl,' appearing as Yoon Yoon-seo's partner, praised the vocals, saying, "I don't know this song, but it's incredibly exciting. It has the power to lift the mood." Gil Rye-won expressed some bashfulness, noting, "If I did it now, I feel like I'd be compared," but shared her honest feelings after the stage, admitting, "I spent a lot of time wondering, 'Who am I?'"
