Behind-the-scenes stories of broadcasting stations, captured with professional detail, are being revealed through YouTube. Comedian Kwon Jae-kwan and broadcast writer Lee Chan are comically portraying the raw reality of production sites through 'Variety Department Conference Room,' a core segment of the YouTube channel 'Variety Department 13.'

The core of this project lies in the unique career backgrounds of the two leads. Leveraging his experience of passing the KBS open recruitment comedian exam with the highest score while performing as an entertainment PD, Kwon Jae-kwan takes on the role of a 'legendary villain PD.'

Joining him is Lee Chan, a veteran who has worked as an entertainment and drama writer for 15 years on programs such as 'SNL Korea' and tvN's 'How to Survive as a Celebrity Manager,' following his start as a KBS open recruitment comedian. He enhances the realism of the drama based on his vivid experiences in the field.

'Variety Department Conference Room,' a Mockumentary Addressing Broadcasting Industry Corruption

'Variety Department Conference Room' deals with internal conflicts and absurdities within broadcasting stations regarding new variety show casts. It satirically depicts the dark side of the industry, including directors who evade responsibility, PDs who exploit celebrities' personal events, writers seeking advertising rebates, and managers who badmouth artists after contracts end.

The cast is equally impressive. Actress Jinyea, formerly of Laboum, has joined the project to challenge herself in comedy acting as a second-year junior writer. Director Lee Hyun-jong, known for works such as the film 'Steal My Heart,' is in charge of directing to ensure high production quality.

Comedian Lim Woo Il has been selected as the first guest. The production team is planning a format where various celebrities visit the 'Variety Department Conference Room,' starting with Lim Woo Il.
