Kim Sung-ryung's secret plea to Seo Kang-jun stops her son's debut

On MBC's Radio Star, Kim Sung-ryung says she asked Seo Kang-jun to keep Fantagio from contacting her street-cast son.

Actress Kim Sung-ryung revealed an anecdote about how she personally stepped in to prevent her second son from entering the entertainment industry.

Appearing on the MBC variety show 'Radio Star' aired on the 15th, Kim Sung-ryung disclosed that while her second son was in middle school, he was street-cast by Fantagio, the agency representing artists such as Cha Eun Woo and Kim Seon-ho. At the time, her son was eagerly waiting for news of his acceptance, but because Kim Sung-ryung did not want him to follow the path of a celebrity, she took action behind his back.

"I secretly asked Seo Kang-jun to 'please don't contact my son,'" Kim Sung-ryung confessed. She used actor Seo Kang-jun, who was under Fantagio at the time, to directly request the agency not to reach out to her son.

Updates on her two sons, now 26 and 22 years old, were also shared. Kim Sung-ryung mentioned that her sons engage in a "share war," arguing over which of them inherited more of their parents' good traits. She drew laughter by describing their overflowing confidence, noting, "When we go to a restaurant, they ask the staff members which one of them is more handsome."

Currently, her second son is pursuing activities as a DJ instead of entering the entertainment industry. Kim Sung-ryung shared that he is active under the name 'DJ Whisper' while still a student. Her eldest son is known to have excellent athletic skills, having won 2nd place in a wake surfing competition and obtaining a ski instructor certification.

Kim Sung-ryung also brought up an episode from her past when she went to a festival at her alma mater, Kyung Hee University, with actress Ha Ji-won. She confessed that while she was a college student, she and Ha Ji-won attempted to pick up freshmen and sophomores, but the students did not recognize her. Having been selected as Miss Korea in 1988, she wittily reminisced about the time, saying, "It doesn't work anymore."
