YOUNG POSSE give Kara's 'Mister' a kitschy new spin on first mixtape
YOUNG POSSE release 12-track mixtape 'young tape' on the 13th, led by 'Mister 2026' and songs written since their trainee days.
Reinterpreting KARA's 'Mister' with YOUNG POSSE's unique color, title track 'Mister 2026'
The group YOUNG POSSE (Jeong Seon-hye, Wi Yeon-jeong, Gianna, Do Eun, Han Ji-eun) will release their first mixtape, 'young tape', on the 13th at 6 PM.

The album's title track, 'Mister 2026', is a reinterpretation of the hit song 'Mister' by their label seniors KARA, reimagined in YOUNG POSSE's signature style. The track employs a sampling technique that raises the vocal pitch, borrowing the 'Chipmunk' style utilized by American hip-hop legend Kanye West. By adding cheerful synth riffs and FX sounds, they realized YOUNG POSSE's characteristic kitschy mood, while creating a trendy variation by adding new melodies and rap not present in the original song.
12 autobiographical records built since trainee days
This mixtape consists of a total of 12 songs, including the title track. All members participated in the songwriting process, bringing together songs they have been creating intermittently since their trainee days. A key feature is that it serves as an autobiographical record, candidly melting in the emotions the members experienced from their teens to their early 20s.
The tracklist includes songs reflecting the members' individual personalities, such as 'I hope it fails, Hani.', 'NO SLEEP', 'I know', 'kawa', 'NEED U', '0nline_x3', 'TOO SUNNY feat. Danji', 'Sweetttttttt;3', 'Don't say my name feat. Eric minz', 'DISTANCE feat. Danji', and 'Pilot2'.
Collaborations with artists including Danji and Eric minz
The album also features collaborations with various artists. Danji participated as a featured artist on 'TOO SUNNY', while Eric minz is credited for featuring on 'Don't say my name' and 'DISTANCE'.
Previously, YOUNG POSSE communicated with fans by sequentially releasing the tracklist and highlight medley through their official SNS channels on the 9th and 10th. This album is a joint production by RBW, DSP Media, and Beats Entertainment.
