Girls' Generation's Hyoyeon, Yuri and Sooyoung to Take Terrestrial Stage as Hyoryosu Before Debut Song

Girls' Generation members Hyoyeon, Yuri and Sooyoung have come together as the unit "Hyoryosu" and will take the stage on a terrestrial variety show before their official debut song is released. The June 20 episode of MBC's "Hangout with Yoo," airing at 6:30 p.m., follows the search for a singer for "A Night Full of Stars," an OST track chosen by Yoo Jae-suk, with Hyoryosu appearing as candidates.
The team's name may have started as a joke, but this meeting is more than a simple variety-show skit. It marks the first scene in which longtime idol members stand between stage performance and talk under a new unit name.
Returning as candidates for "A Night Full of Stars"
"A Night Full of Stars" is a song featured in the short-form drama "I Decided to Take Back the Woman My Younger Brother Stole." It was not the main theme, but after catching Yoo Jae-suk's taste, it was brought back into the program.
Yoo Jae-suk had earlier suggested to Yuri that she sing the song, and that thread led to the return of Hyoyeon, Yuri and Sooyoung together. All three have long experience on the major stage of Girls' Generation, but under the name "Hyoryosu," they are still introduced almost like rookies.
From center-position battles to vocal rivalry
In the released preview and stills, the three bicker over the center position and playfully keep one another's vocals in check. The scenes are framed as comedy, but they also reveal the color of Hyoryosu as a team.
If the focus is only on singing skill, it is no different from a music show; if only the laughs remain, the project loses force quickly. Hyoryosu gives a familiar combination of members a new name, rolls that name between stage and talk, and builds characters around it.
Yoo Jae-suk responds, "Amazing"
Yoo Jae-suk's reaction is also central to this episode. After seeing Hyoryosu, he exclaimed that they were "amazing," and in the earlier flow of the show he directly asked Yuri to "sing the OST."
On "Hangout with Yoo," Yoo Jae-suk's tastes and judgment have often served as the starting point for projects. In music projects, a single comment from him can begin as a joke and lead to an actual song release, stage or new combination. That is why Hyoryosu has to make both the song and its variety-show presence persuasive in this episode.
The three members' careers also strengthen the unit setup. Hyoyeon has built her experience in performance, Yuri in acting and variety shows, and Sooyoung in dramas and hosting. They may feel unfamiliar as one team, but because each can immediately bring her strengths into a short variety-show scene, the phrase "terrestrial TV outing before debut" feels natural.
In the June 20 broadcast, viewers will see what kind of scene Hyoryosu creates as candidates to sing "A Night Full of Stars" and how far Yoo Jae-suk's proposal has gone. The three members have a new name but already proven stage instincts, and the episode will also show whether they can pull a variety-show joke closer to a real song and stage.
