Toy Story 5: Key Characters Leading the Box Office

'Toy Story 5' Surpasses 2.21 Million

'Toy Story 5', released on the 17th of last month, drew approximately 429,000 viewers over the past weekend (3rd–5th), recording a market share of 38.6%. In just 18 days since its release, it surpassed 2,218,000 cumulative viewers, breaking the 2 million mark.

This series, returning after 7 years, features existing characters such as Woody, Buzz, and Jessie. It depicts the journey of toys facing a crisis caused by 'Lilypad,' a smart tablet that captures children's attention.

This weekend's performance reversed the weekday trend. During the weekdays of its third week, it faltered, losing the top spot to the thriller 'Nundongja' starring Shin Min-a, but it reclaimed first place starting from the weekend.

'Nundongja' took second place at the box office last weekend, drawing approximately 359,000 viewers, with a market share of 32.7%. The cumulative number of viewers is approximately 842,000, nearing the 1 million milestone.

Compared to the 232,947 viewers during its opening weekend on the 24th of last month, the number of viewers for 'Nundongja' surged by 54.5%. During its second week of release, it briefly overtook 'Toy Story 5'.

Director Yeon Sang-ho's zombie film 'Colony' recorded third place, drawing approximately 70,000 viewers. 'Marty Supreme,' starring Timothee Chalamet, settled in fourth place, attracting approximately 38,000 viewers.

Currently, the reservation rankings are 'Hope' in first place, Disney's live-action film 'Moana' in second with 16.2%, and 'Toy Story 5' in third with 8%.
