Movie 'Hope' Surpasses 3.61 Million Cumulative Viewers

Jung Ho-yeon's feature film debut 'Hope' continues its box office success. According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network results on July 29, the cumulative number of viewers for the movie 'Hope' is 3,619,235. The cumulative revenue recorded 39,342,552,210 won, bringing it close to surpassing 4 million viewers.

Released on the 15th, 'Hope' is an SF action thriller set in Hopo Port, located in the Demilitarized Zone. The story follows Beom-seok (played by Hwang Jung-min), the head of the Hopo Port branch office, who sets out to search after hearing news from the village youths that a tiger has appeared, only to encounter an unexpected identity.

While the break-even point based on production costs was observed to be over 10 million viewers, the actual threshold became lower due to successful pre-sales in approximately 200 countries worldwide.

Jung Ho-yeon Reveals Styling from Stage Greeting Site

On July 28, actress Jung Ho-yeon posted behind-the-scenes photos from the stage greeting on her SNS with the caption, "Stage greeting, let's go."

In the photos, Jung Ho-yeon showcased diverse styling, ranging from slicked-back hair to hairstyles tied on both sides. She revealed her fashion style by matching dark-colored cardigans with brown wide pants or wearing inner tops with decorative cardigans.

Career Spanning from Model to Emmy Nominee

Jung Ho-yeon debuted as a model through the '2012 S/S Seoul Collection Parts/Parts Show' in 2011. After winning joint runner-up on 'Korea's Next Top Model 4' in 2013, she appeared on MBC's 'Infinite Challenge', JTBC's 'Witch Hunt', and tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block'.

Her turning point as an actress was the 2021 Netflix series 'Squid Game'. Playing the role of Kang Sae-byeok, Jung Ho-yeon was nominated for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Since then, she has won the U+ Idol Live Popularity Award in the Actor category at the 6th Asia Artist Awards, was selected as Cine21's New Actress of the Year, won the Actress of the Year award at the 20th Director's Cut Awards, and won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series.
