Surpasses 10,000 Viewers in 5 Days to Claim No. 1 at Box Office
The film 'Ha-na Korea,' released on July 8, is demonstrating rapid audience mobilization. As of July 12, the cumulative number of viewers has exceeded 10,000, and it is currently recording No. 1 at the independent and art film box office.

Directed by Frederik Sølberg, this project is a co-production between Korea and Denmark based on a true story. The film depicts the journey of Hye-seon, a North Korean defector struggling to make a living in an unfamiliar environment. It realistically captures the fear and loneliness the protagonist faces, as well as the conflicts she experiences while adapting to a new society.
Powerful Performance by Kim Min Ha and Steady Acting from Kim Joo-ryoung
Actor Kim Min Ha takes on the role of Hye-seon, the North Korean defector, embodying the character's inner self. Having gained recognition through the Apple TV+ series 'Pachinko,' Kim Min Ha expresses the psychology of Hye-seon, who struggles to earn money for her sick mother's medical bills and weeps in guilt. In particular, her natural use of North Korean dialect enhances the immersion of the film.
Kim Joo-ryoung provides weight to the drama as Suk-hee, a fellow trainee from Hanawon. Although Suk-hee carries her own scars from leaving her son far behind, she is a character who silently stands by Hye-seon's side. Kim Joo-ryoung adds stability to the film by revealing the character's warmth through restrained gazes and speech.
