Actor Kim Jun Han has taken on the role of audio description narrator for the barrier-free version of the film 'Number One.' The Barrier-Free Film Committee announced that recording for the audio description for the barrier-free version of 'Number One' took place last June at the Seoul Business Agency Media Content Center.

This project is part of the production of barrier-free films, which aim to allow everyone to enjoy movies regardless of disability by adding audio descriptions for the visually impaired and subtitles for the hearing impaired. The version featuring Kim Jun Han's voice will meet audiences starting in late August after undergoing sound mixing and subtitling.

Kim Jun Han's First-Ever Barrier-Free Narration

Kim Jun Han, who has appeared in dramas such as 'Hospital Playlist' and 'Mad Concrete Dreams' and the film 'Salmokji,' has challenged himself with barrier-free film narration for the first time through this work. At the recording site, he stated, "I am truly grateful to be invited to this meaningful work of sharing hearts," adding, "I hope the warmth contained within the work 'Number One' is fully conveyed to those who listen."

HD Hyundai Oilbank and the HD Hyundai 1% Sharing Foundation supported the production of this barrier-free version. The Seoul Business Agency Media Content Center handled the post-production.

Director Kim Tae-yong's First Barrier-Free Direction

Director Kim Tae-yong, who directed 'Set Me Free' and 'Misbehavior,' also took on barrier-free direction for the first time through this project. Director Kim stated, "While working on the audio description recording, it was a precious time to look back on the emotions and messages I wanted to convey to the audience when I first wrote and made 'Number One.'"

'Number One' has also garnered attention as the work where Director Kim Tae-yong reunites with lead actor Choi Woo-shik after 12 years. During the production process of the barrier-free version, the director collaborated on the task of conveying the core emotions of the work through audio description.

'Number One' Starring Choi Woo-shik and Jang Hye-jin, Community Screenings in Late August

First meeting audiences in February, 'Number One' is a fantasy human drama starring Choi Woo-shik, Jang Hye-jin, and Gong Seung Yeon. It centers on the story of Ha-min (played by Choi Woo-shik), who witnesses a phenomenon where a number above his head decreases by one every time he eats his mother's food.

Ha-min realizes that the moment the number becomes '0,' his mother Eun-sil (played by Jang Hye-jin) will pass away, and he struggles to prevent the number from decreasing. Choi Woo-shik's emotional acting and Jang Hye-jin's presence support the familial love within the fantasy setting.

Once post-production is complete, unlike a general theatrical release, the barrier-free version of 'Number One' will meet audiences through community screenings and viewing applications starting in late August. Audiences can apply for viewing through the Barrier-Free Film Committee, and community screenings through various communities and organizations are also planned.

Barrier-free films are being produced across various works, from classic films to the latest domestic and international films. The barrier-free version of 'Number One' is also being completed in a way that lowers the barriers to enjoying the film by combining audio description and subtitles.
