Song Kang's Return After Discharge and Lee Jun-young's Final Choice Before Enlistment

tvN's new weekend drama 'Four Hands,' scheduled to premiere on the 29th of next month at 9:10 PM, has revealed its specific atmosphere through a teaser and poster. Set in an arts high school where musical geniuses gather, the 12-episode series depicts the friendship, love, fierce competition, and growth of youth.

The actors' career moves are also drawing significant attention. Song Kang, who enlisted on April 2, 2024, and was discharged on October 1 last year, returns to the screen with this project, breaking his military hiatus. Song Kang plays Kang Bi-o, a hardworking genius who maintains top-tier status in both academics and piano. At 17 years old, he is recognized as a next-generation pianist in both domestic and international classical circles, yet he harbors a deep thirst to be acknowledged by his grandfather, a world-renowned conductor.

Co-starring Lee Jun-young, who is set to enlist on July 21, has chosen 'Four Hands' as his final project before his military service. Recently, Lee Jun-young shared his news through a handwritten letter, stating, "I felt it would be better to tell you myself rather than having you hear it through news articles. I will serve well, staying healthy and being true to myself." In the drama, he portrays Choi Jeong-yo, a free-spirited genius pianist who shakes up Kang Bi-o's life.

The Synergy of Two Geniuses Over Piano Keys

The released teaser video captures Kang Bi-o and Choi Jeong-yo sharing a moment of connection in front of a piano. Kang Bi-o, while turning music sheets, smiles at Choi Jeong-yo, who is playing around with a camcorder, while Choi Jeong-yo waves hello on behalf of Kang Bi-o's hand. Scenes of them playing a single piano together and walking out of the school side-by-side late at night hint at the relationship between the two characters.

The title 'Four Hands' is a musical term referring to 'four-hand playing,' where two people play a single piano together. The poster, featuring their hands overlapping on the piano keys alongside the phrase "In front of the keys, our breathtakingly perfect synergy," visualizes the musical and emotional collisions they will face.

Kang Bi-o's obsession, played by Song Kang, is revealed through his practice logs. In stills released by the production team, Kang Bi-o remains at the piano even during breaks, analyzing sheet music. In particular, a record showing him immersing himself in the piano for 9 hours and 30 minutes a day, accompanied by a memo reading "The cadenza is a mess. From the beginning, again," showcases his perfectionist nature. Joining them to lead the drama alongside Song Kang and Lee Jun-young is Jang Gyu-ri, who plays Hong Jae-in, a viola major with sensitive hearing.

Director Park Hyun-suk, known for 'Stranger 2' and 'Uncontrollably Fond,' will direct the series, with the script written by Shin Yi-won of 'Green Mothers' Club.'
