Good Bye My Princess stills pull Nam Joo Hyuk into a palace curse
Netflix's Good Bye My Princess previews Nam Joo Hyuk, Roh Yoon-seo and Cho Seung-woo in new stills ahead of its 17th premiere.
Gucheon and Saenggang: Two Figures Chasing Clues to a Curse
Before the Netflix original series 'Donggung' officially lifts its veil, it has released a second set of promotional stills capturing the tension between characters entangled in a palace curse. Set to premiere on the 17th, the series follows Gucheon (played by Nam Joo Hyuk), who possesses the ability to traverse the world of ghosts, and Saenggang (played by Roh Yoon-seo), a court lady harboring a secret. Upon the call of the King (played by Cho Seung-woo), they track the mysterious incidents unfolding as they investigate a bizarre curse dwelling within the Donggung.

The released stills capture Gucheon's confused expression as he steps into the realm of spirits. Subsequent scenes capture Saenggang focusing on the eerie whispers of a ghost, hinting at the events they will face. In particular, the figure of a ghost whispering into Saenggang's ear heightens the drama's tension. The King's eyes, as he visits a Buddhist temple, are filled with complex emotions, making his intention for summoning Gucheon and Saenggang to the palace—and how they will unravel the clues to the curse—the central mystery.
Diverging Perspectives: Royal Figures Caught in the Curse
The curse does not stop with the protagonists. As deaths occur consecutively within the Donggung, the reactions of the royal family members diverge. The stills preview how the Crown Prince (played by Kwak Dong-yeon), the Queen Dowager (played by Jang Young-nam), Iksanggun (played by Tae In-ho), and Sukbin Choe (played by Hwang Young-hee) will face the curse. They each carry different narratives surrounding the blood curse flowing through the palace and the secrets hidden behind it.
The presence of those standing by the King's side is also distinct. Attention is also focused on what roles Kim Sang-seon (played by Hong Seo Joon), the King's confidant, and the shaman (played by Lee Hong-nae), who entered the palace at the Queen Dowager's summons, will play in the process of breaking the curse.
Led by Nam Joo Hyuk, Roh Yoon-seo, and Cho Seung-woo, and featuring a powerhouse cast including Kwak Dong-yeon, Jang Young-nam, Tae In-ho, Hwang Young-hee, Hong Seo Joon, and Lee Hong-nae, 'Donggung' will be released worldwide on Netflix on the 17th.
