Co-production Agreement with Gline and KT Studio Genie
'Obedient Killer' is a 'pure and fragile noir' genre piece set in the 1970s and 1980s. It depicts the story of a woman who dreamed of being a devoted wife and mother but ends up taking an unplanned job to survive.
PD Lee Jung-heum, who directed the dramas 'Inspector Koo' and 'Our Movie,' will take the helm, and writer Joo Hwa-mi of 'The Atypical Family' will handle the script. Actress Kim Da-mi is currently reviewing the lead role.
Expansion of Fantagio's Production Lineup
Fantagio plans to strengthen its production capabilities by directly producing content across various genres. To date, the company has gained experience spanning both management and production by participating in works for various channels, such as tvN's 'Blind,' JTBC's 'Miraculous Brothers,' MBC's 'A Good Day to Be a Dog,' KBS2's 'Love Song for Illusion' and 'Dare to Love Me,' and SBS's 'Kim Bujang.'
Regarding this project, Fantagio Chairman Namgung Gyeon stated, "Based on the production capabilities we have built so far, we plan to expand our content portfolio and steadily present works of various genres," adding, "Through the successful execution of projects, we will increase our own IP competitiveness and strengthen a sustainable production foundation."
'Kim Bujang' Achieves SBS's Highest Viewership Rating of the Year in Just 2 Episodes
Fantagio's recent production decision is also linked to recent drama production achievements. The SBS drama 'Kim Bujang,' produced by Fantagio, recorded the highest viewership rating among SBS dramas aired in 2026 after just 2 episodes following its premiere on the 26th.
Recently, Fantagio has faced internal and external issues, including an 8.2 billion won fine and a notice of a 20 billion won income tax collection for its artist Cha Eun-woo. The company plans to continue the growth trend of its content production business based on the success of 'Kim Bujang.'
