Hyung-won to MC ASEA 2025 After Discharge, Teases 'Absolutely Nothing Prepared' with Shownu

MONSTA X's Hyung-won will stand on the stage as an MC for a Japanese awards ceremony following his military discharge. Hyung-won will host the second day of 'Asia Star Entertainer Awards 2025 (ASEA 2025)' held at K-Arena Yokohama in Japan on May 29.

Artists representing Asia will participate in this awards ceremony. This marks the first time Hyung-won will take the stage as an awards ceremony host in the 10 years since his debut in 2015.

Hyung-won previously gained hosting experience while working as a DJ for MBC FM4U's 'Idol Radio Season 2'. As he has continued his activities in acting, producing, and DJing alongside his team activities, this MC schedule serves as his first official schedule for resuming activities immediately after his discharge.

Teases Appearance on 'Absolutely Nothing Prepared' with Shownu Next Week

Variety show appearances will also follow. At the end of episode 42 of the YouTube variety show 'Absolutely Nothing Prepared' (hereafter 'Absolutely Nothing Prepared') released on the 26th, the appearance of Hyung-won and MONSTA X member Shownu as next week's guests was teased.

The two previously drew significant attention when they appeared on 'Absolutely Nothing Prepared'. At that time, the video recorded a cumulative 22.25 million views.

Hyung-won has also built a career in music production. In 2023, he formed the unit 'Shownu X Hyung-won' with leader Shownu and released the album 'THE UNSEEN'. At the time, he demonstrated his producing capabilities by directly writing the title track 'Love Me A Little' and the B-side 'Roll With Me'.

After completing his military service on May 13, Hyung-won held a fan event 'Hyung-won's Greenhouse' to meet with fans. To celebrate their 10th anniversary since debut, MONSTA X will hold the full group performance 'CONNECT X' at the KSPO Dome in Seoul Olympic Park from July 18 to 20.
